Prohibiting Usage of
Firearms in Town
An Ordinance prohibiting the use, firing, discharge, or shooting of air rifles or B-B guns and bow and arrows within the limits of the Borough of Bolivar and providing for a penalty for violation thereof.
Be it enacted and ordained by the Borough of Bolivar, and it is hereby enacted and ordained by the authority of the same.
Section 1. That it shall be unlawful for any person to use, fire, discharge, or shoot within the limits of the Borough of Bolivar any type of weapon known as or designated as an air rifle or B-B gun, or to shoot or in any way use any type of weapon known as or similar to a bow and arrow which shoots or discharges a pointed instrument which would in any way or manner whatsoever endanger the life, limb, or property of any of the residents of or citizens of the Borough of Bolivar.
Section 2. That any individual or person and the parent or parents of any minor individual or person who shall use fire, discharge, or shoot any such weapon as defined in Section 1 and thereby violate any of the provisions as set forth in this Ordinance, shall upon conviction before the burgess of the Borough of Bolivar, be sentenced to pay a fine of not less than $5.00 no more than $25.00 and costs for each offense, and in default of payment of said fine, be committed to the county jail of Westmoreland County for a period not exceeding five days.
Section 3. That all ordinances or resolutions or parts thereof inconsistent herewith, be and the same are hereby repealed.
