New Business

Mellissa said the trivia guy wants to know if we are a go or no go.  She told him she

She was waiting on him to help her as she did not know how to run one.  He said there are groups of 8.  Put a team together. Each team will pay a total $50 plus their own alcohol.  We can include food and snacks.  We try it once to see what we get.  If we break even I will consider it a win.  You advertise it as bring a team from the Legion, a team from VFW, a team of friends.  Melissa said when she goes to one there are at least 10 or 11 teams.  The kids can also come, however the parents watch them.

Barbara suggested to have teams of kids also and questions for the kids.  The date available is March 22, it’s a Sunday.  Time from 6 t0 8 PM.   There is 3 rounds to play. Will be held at Legion.

Jessica motions to do, 2nd by Brittany Hughes, all in favor motion passed.

Also do SGOC tickets.  Pat to check on the renewal of the SGOC license.

Mellissa said she has 2 other things.  She did contact another comedy night fundraiser.  The company is SLAP Stick.  We used for the Sesquincenntinel in 2013.

We can sell 150 Tickets @ $25.00.   This would be held in November.  That cost is not bad.  We would get ½ of the funds for the tickets.  The Legion would get the alcohol also.

The other thing is America 250 anniversary of the US.  There is a big push for this community to do something.  Could we do a shirt for the 150 and just have the zip code on it.

We could also get a National Marker.  They are offering for free.  We can send away for this because we have a National Treasurer here.  We could put for the coal mines, brick yard.  The time is limited and Mellissa said she knows the person involved with this and she will contact her to come explain to her.

Also if you have anyone buried in either cemetery that are from the civil war they will give you stuff for the Cemetery’s also.

Mellissa said she would like to see DiRinaldo Store as our 3rd ornament.  Mellissa motions to approve, 2nd by Jessica, all in favor motion passed.

Mellissa said she needs a photo of the store.

Mellissa said that Lowes has a grant for infrastructure.  She is going to request to redo the sidewalks.

She also said that Walmart has a grant also.

Pat asked about the upper park playground equipment.

Brittany will contact the company and order the piece since we did approve several months ago on the item.

We also need to contact John to get his piece of playground equipment or we will be taking down and getting rid of it.  Mellissa said she will talk to John again about this.

Sue asked about the tree branch at the upper park that came down over the winter months.

Mellissa said she saw the borough workers cutting the tree up this afternoon.

Mellissa asked if we had any money to get at least the upper park trees worked on.   Pat said the money that is set aside for the upper park yet is the storage shed fund, which is $4,000.

Mellissa said the Pirate Parrot is ordered.  She not sure of the cost yet.  It will appear on the bank account with Brittany’s charge card.  We also could possibly get the Pierogi guy also.

Mellissa also asked if we are going to sell tickets for Memorial Day.

Make 333 @ $10   1 drawing   Winner $1665.00.  Name it “Peanuts, Popcorn and Cash”
